Last Upper School assembly

On the last day of school for the semester the Upper School had an assembly.
Derek going up to the stage to receive his certificate for being on the Headmaster's Honor Roll.
He had an A/A+ average.

Lauren going to get her certificate as well!
Headmaster's Honor Roll with an A/A+ average.

9 kids out of the whole middle school made Headmaster's and 2 of them are Detters.
So proud of them!

They were a little embarrassed that they essentially had on matching outfits.

Santa stopped by on his way to visit the Lower School kids.

Going up again. This time for one of two gold stars.
One from Mr. Howard, social studies, and one from Ms. Bestard, PE.

Last day at ISH.
Bittersweet.

On the walk back to the hotel we see this-

Excellent use of time, I'm sure.

Derek and the baritone

Derek learned to play the baritone as part of his music class. After 9 weeks the class performed for the parents. I mostly took video of the performance. Derek has requested I not post it. Anywhere.

So, here's a picture of Derek getting ready to play but not actually playing. :)
Later in the performance he had a solo.

Moving day

Packed up and loaded all on the same day.
They got here at 8:30 (actually earlier because it's a Finnish company) and left around 7:00.

All cleared out. Time for soccer with a basketball.

Julie Artz hosted a goodbye lunch for Cindy and me. I had so much fun playing soccer with these girls! (And a few not pictured.)

This is a spot we drove by every Sunday. We noticed the sea looked different every time. It was decided we'd take a picture every week. Well, it wasn't exactly every week, but we did take pictures.
