Birthday boy



Happy 12th birthday, buddy!

We celebrated his birthday early since he was going to be travelling to Ukraine on his big day. The celebration consisted of dinner at Pizza Hut, cake, and a movie.

He also wanted to play 'What were we doing _____years ago today?'

He said we played this on Lauren's birthday but I didn't remember.

So 12 years ago was easy. At the hospital having Derek. Boom.

11 years ago, in North Liberty, Iowa, his 1st birthday party was a March Madness theme with family from both sides and new indoor hoop and of course, a basketball cake.

10 years ago North Liberty, Iowa...major snow storm but we still went to the Monkey House for his party. Thomas the Train cake. Uncle G was living with us then.

Then it starts to get fuzzy.

There was a party in Indiana at this place that sold backyard play equipment. Slides, swings, play houses and climbers. Way fun. Maybe he was 5? It's easy to remember the parties I scrapbooked about. :)

When Derek was 8 he was baptized. Grandma Netta, Grandma and Grandpa Detter, and Uncle Ken were there.

Oh, when he was 10 in Georgia the party was at the Bounce House. Cheesburger cake from Publix.

Last year, laser tag party at Megazone.
