Spring is here... sort of

Once upon a time, in a land we like to call Georgia, snow was a luxury, a friend, for it closed the schools and made for once-in-a-lifetime snowball fights. We moved to Finland, knowing that this winter would be one of the best winters ever. We were wrong. The first time we got snow; we greeted it as a friend, and had a snowball fight and built forts and snowmen. :) (You will find some of these under my secretary’s blog, Finland, The Beginning.) Then the real wrath of Finland came. It snowed six inches in one night, making it almost impossible to get out of our driveway. Snow has trapped us in airports, made us late for school, (OK, that’s not so bad UNLESS you have swimming first thing in the morning,) and almost fell on us. :( Wow. Then, a few months later, our old friend the sun came and melted almost all the snow. Hallelujah! I am extremely happy that we can actually get temperatures above freezing. Yay. I can finally go outside without fear of falling into 3 feet deep snow. There are pictures below. This is Derek Detter, over and out.
