Wait a minute, Mr. Postman

This seems to be the most common way for the Posti (postal system) to deliver mail. That's right. By bike. It was 19 F and windy when I took this picture. Poor guy.

I've also seen Posti workers pushing a cart in dowtown Helsinki, a motorbike with the same saddlebags as the bike, and the occasional van.

Packages that don't fit in mailboxes (and even some that do) are left at a Posti office for the owners to pick up. Ours is at a R-Kioski, which is a convenience store. Outgoing mail has to be taken to a Posti office or yellow boxes that can be found in random places around town.
